Halloween in Hell’s Kitchen

October 27, 2014

The leaves are turning, the jack-o-lanterns are carved and Halloween is quickly approaching. If you have young children and live at Gotham West, the luxury apartment building, or anywhere in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, then you’re in luck this fall.

The leaves are turning, the jack-o-lanterns are carved and Halloween is quickly approaching. If you have young children and live at Gotham West, the luxury apartment building, or anywhere in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, then you’re in luck this fall.

At Gotham West, our residents and their children can trick-or-treat all night long on Halloween in both Gotham West and in Gotham West Market, the first-of-its-kind day-to- night market located on the ground floor of the building. The fun doesn’t stop there though, as Gotham West Market will be extending their trick-or-treating hours to Saturday, November 1st from 9am to 12pm to make sure the local children have time to get all the candy their hearts desire!

If you’re looking to explore more of the West Side for the evening, here are a few popular spots:

Many families gather at Clement Clarke Moore Park at West 22nd Street and 10th Avenue to hit the brownstone blocks in the Chelsea neighborhood. West 21st Street between 9th and 10th Avenues is well known for its charming townhouses and residents who dole out lots of candy. New York City families can also enjoy parades and celebrations in the days leading up to Halloween:

Kids and families can visit the Haunted High Line Halloween on Saturday, October 25th from 11am to 3pm to trick or treat on the high line, brave a haunted tunnel and work on seasonal crafts. Before heading out for trick-or-treating, meet the Halloween parade at the Upper West Side’s Hippo Playground on Friday, October 31st at 3:45pm. Parents and children are invited to meet at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument to lead the parade, which ends with donuts and cider. If you’re still scrambling to find a last-minute Halloween costume for you or your kids, it’s not too late! Hell’s Kitchen has plenty of options to help you find the perfect costumes. Check out Ricky’s NYC at 728 Ninth Avenue or Salvation Army at 536 West 46th Street.
